Elizabeth Gass

Previously a Curator of the Jewelry Television (JTV) Internal Collection, Elizabeth moved from Knoxville, TN to join our team. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor’s in Geology and Environmental studies from the University of Tennessee as well as a Fellow of the Gemological Association of Great Britain (FGA). At JTV, Elizabeth maintained and improved in-house displays and exhibits by integrating new display techniques. She executed a year-long interactive display at McGhee Tyson Airport that featured 26 individual displays of different mineral specimen species that included jewelry, loose gemstones and crystals. Since 2017, Elizabeth has designed the JTV traveling display for the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show each year (2017-2019). She has a passion for meteorites, focusing part of her geologic research on them. She helped classify the meteorite Al Jawf 001 and won the most outstanding undergraduate award for her presentation at the 45th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC). She has had work published in the Meteoritical Bulletin and the UT Pursuit Journal. A mineral collector herself, Elizabeth first became interested in geology and minerals when she was a young child. On a family trip to Montana to visit the Glacier National Park and surrounding area, where she ended up diving into a nearby lake, collecting colorful rocks from the bottom of the lake.
